Waldorf Style Doll

I think my daughter who will be turning 5 in 8 days would really like one of these:

However I can’t bring myself to pay $150

I’m trying to decide if I want to give it a whirl and try to make one in just one week.

Here’s a couple of tutorials that I have found for the Waldorf Style Doll here and here and for making the Hair here.

What do you think?

**I just found this great photo tutorial for making the doll and this photo tutorial for making the hair on flickr**

I've used all of those tutorials and they are good. My bits of advice: stuff everything harder than you think it should be or you will have a very floppy doll, tie the facial strings tight, consider crocheting/knitting/or weaving a head covering and then knotting individual yarns through for a more realistic look, keep the face simple. Best wishes and I can't wait to see what you come up with!

I can't see paying $150 for a doll either, even if they are real cute. The tutorials look like they are explained simple enough and you should definitely give it a try before doubting yourself.
