A friend in need…

There’s a young lady we know in our community who is just $350 short of going to college this semester.  I wanted to see what I could do to help her out so I have set up a special listing of my Affinity Purse PDF Pattern with all the proceeds on purchases made from now until August 19th to go to her.

My husband and I have struggled to get ourselves through college (we’re still trying to get him through school).  It’s tough in these hard economic times and even tougher with college prices going up.  We’ve had to take out loans and that’s not fun.  We don’t want her to lose her drive to go when she is so close to having the funds she needs.

So if you can spare $5 go HERE and purchase my pattern and if we get 80 people to purchase it then she’ll have the money she needs to go to college!

Thank you so much for your continued support of my blog and for helping out our friend in need!

Mathew 25:35-40

“35 For I was an ahungred, and ye bgave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a cstranger, and ye took me in:

36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye avisited me: I was in bprison, and ye came unto me.

37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

39 Or when saw we thee asick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have adone it unto one of the bleast of these my cbrethren, ye have done it unto me.”

Levi Quilts

I’ll be honest I wasn’t looking forward to making these two quilts because it was just putting blocks together; but it turned out to be more fun than I thought.

This first one is all out of the same material.  Nothing too exciting…

But for this second one I got to be more creative!!! I didn’t have enough of the main material that the client had given me so I had to use some of the scrap pieces that she had also provided for me to use.  The problem was that the other material was not quite the same color so it looked a little off.  So I decided to see if I had enough for a checkered pattern and sure enough I did.  The other problem I ran into was that the other fabric was pretty close in color that the checkered pattern didn’t  show up as well as I would’ve liked.  That’s when I decided to turn the one fabric around so that the wrong side would be showing up.  It made for a great contrast and was a lot of fun to see it come together.

Gone too long…

We had a vacation all last month.  We took a road trip from our home in Utah to Orlando, Florida!!!  It was a lot of fun.  We decided to split the trip into 5 nights and 6 days.  We traveled on average 400 miles each day and each night we stayed at campgrounds (mostly KOA’s).  With three kids ages 6,4,and 20 months I was a little worried how they would do come day 3 of traveling.  But thanks to the wonderful technology of dual screen portable DVD players it went over much better than I could’ve expected.

Anyways I’ve been on a much longer vacation from blogging.  I don’t know what it is but I have a hard time getting any blog posts done.  Not just on my crafting one but also on our family one.  My problem is probably because I spend most of my spare time designing or creating something new!

Right now nap time has consisted of trying to boost my sewing business by making hair/hat bows and trying to strategize the best way to market my sewing classes.  Marketing is definitely an area I struggle with.    So here is my marketing plug for today….

Come check out my cute new flower hair clips at my Sew Frenzy Shop
